Dj Susan
San Diego's Steven Glathe produces as DJ Susan, making bass-heavy tech house built around rap acapellas and hard drops, and hip-hop turns up often enough in his recorded sets to show that it isn't just a studio habit. He runs Hood Politics Records, which released early records from John Summit and Max Styler before either broke wide. TALKIN hit number one on Beatport's bass house chart and remains the track most people know him for.
