Derrick May
Detroit pioneer Derrick May helped lay the foundations for techno in the 1980s alongside Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson. In 1986, he founded the Transmat label, which released his own music and mentored a second generation of Detroit producers like Carl Craig. Under his Rhythim Is Rhythim alias, Derrick May produced "Nude Photo" and "Strings of Life". On set79, his recorded sets showcase his energetic mixing style, bridging house and techno.
