Drunken Kong
A Tokyo duo made up of D. Singh and DJ Kyoko, Drunken Kong write groove-driven, hypnotic techno that leans on melodic and vocal hooks instead of stripped-back tool tracks. Both of their albums, The Signs Within and Where We Start, came out on Christian Smith's Tronic, and the 2023 EP I Want to See was their Drumcode debut. They remain fixtures of the Tokyo club circuit, with regular appearances at WOMB and a slot at Ultra Japan.
