F.U.S.E.

An early alias of Windsor-based producer Richie Hawtin, F.U.S.E. is a studio project focused on acid techno, IDM, and ambient electronica. Hawtin launched the alias in 1991 with the single "Approach & Identify" on Plus 8 Records, the label he co-founded with John Acquaviva. In 1993, he released the album *Dimension Intrusion* under the moniker, which was issued by Warp Records as part of its *Artificial Intelligence* series. The project helped shape the early minimal techno sound of the Detroit-Windsor scene before Hawtin shifted his primary focus to Plastikman.
