Greg Wilson
Greg Wilson was a key UK champion of electro-funk in the early 1980s. He played US imports at Wigan Pier and at Manchester's Legend and The Haçienda, and he was the first DJ to mix live on British TV, on Channel 4's The Tube in 1983. He stepped away from DJing at the end of that year to produce, writing much of the Street Sounds UK Electro LP and later managing Manchester hip-hop crew Ruthless Rap Assassins. He returned to the decks in 2003, and his sets now draw on disco, funk and electro, including slots at Glastonbury and We Out Here.
