Paul Van Dyk
Berlin-based Paul van Dyk is a foundational figure in trance music who emerged from the city's post-Wall club scene. He founded the label Vandit Records in 1999 and is widely recognized for his 1994 anthem "For An Angel". Rather than traditional DJing, Paul van Dyk performs live using a hybrid setup of synchronized computers, keyboards, and custom controllers to manipulate tracks on the fly. He held early residencies at Berlin's E-Werk and Sheffield's Gatecrasher One, a venue that regularly appears in his recorded history on set79.
