Richard Hawtin

Closely connected to the Detroit techno scene from his early days in Windsor, Ontario, Richard Hawtin—commonly known as Richie Hawtin—is a pioneer of minimal and acid techno. He co-founded Plus 8 Records in 1990 and later launched the Minus label in 1998. Under his Plastikman alias, Hawtin released the 1993 single "Spastik" and the album *Sheet One*. As a DJ, he integrates drum machines, synthesizers, and hybrid digital setups into his performances.
