Rrose
The name comes from Rrose Sélavy, Marcel Duchamp's female alter ego, and that ambiguity carries into the music: slow, hypnotic techno built on psychoacoustic effects and aural illusions rather than drops. A run of EPs on Sandwell District in 2011 introduced the project, and Waterfall is still the track people name first. Rrose has run the Eaux label since 2012, and the catalogue reaches well past the club, including two grand pianos with Charlemagne Palestine, Buchla synth work with Bob Ostertag, and a solo gong interpretation of James Tenney's Having Never Written a Note for Percussion.
