Damiano Von Erckert
Cologne-based DJ and producer who founded AVA. Records in 2011 after labels turned down his demos, and has put out most of his own work there ever since. Damiano von Erckert builds house out of soul, disco and hip-hop samples, warm and loose rather than functional, with a clear debt to early New York and Detroit records. He plays as part of the resident team at Robert Johnson in Offenbach, and the albums Love Based Music and Also Known As Good hold most of his best-known material.
